United States: President Joe Biden is not dodging the issue of his age this Tuesday after the first ad of his $30 million buy campaign dropped by claiming that he is more effective than his predecessor, Donald Trump.
Campaign Highlights Achievements
The 60-second clip commences with Biden, who is 81 years old, taking on one of the biggest doubts held by voters and disclosing right to the viewers that “Look, I’m not a young guy; that’s no secret.”
“But here’s the deal, I understand how to get things done for the American people,” Biden says, mentioning, scenario by scenario, how he aided in leading the United States through the COVID-19 pandemic, lowering drug prices and a strong economy, as reported by Associated Press.
Targeted Media for Diverse Audiences
The six-week ad campaign will air on major TV and digital networks, focusing on the main messages. The media is targeted towards African American, Asian, and Hispanic community voters. Thus, the primary ad would be in acquiescence to the broad worry of a majority of the voters.
Biden’s age is undoubtedly his biggest risk on the campaign trail, even as many Americans also struggle with age-related issues that Trump, at 77, is no stranger to. NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll results, which indicate only 37% who doubt Biden’s mental performance, were published recently. In the survey, 57% alleged that Trump wasn’t suitable for his position because he lacks the ability and the intellect needed, according to the Associated Press.
Reaction to Age Concerns
At the same time, a pro-PAC that supports Trump released an advertisement that will focus on Biden’s age and pronounce, “If Biden wins, can he even survive till 2029?”
As the advertisement comes to a close, Biden beams at the camera and says, “Look, I’m very young, energetic, and handsome.” This appears to be an outtake. Why the devil am I even bothering?”
